Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-06-14
Zuma Lift Service Inc. (operating as Zuma Parts Canada) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through parts.zuma.ca, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We handle personal information under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
Who we are
parts.zuma.ca is operated by Zuma Lift Service Inc., 43915 Industrial Way #1, Chilliwack, BC V2R 3A4. We supply aerial-lift and material-handling replacement parts to businesses.
Privacy Officer
Our Privacy Officer is accountable for the personal information in our care. To ask a question, request access to your information, or make a complaint, email [email protected] and mark it for the Privacy Officer.
What we collect
You give us information directly when you:
- create an account or place an order (name, work email, phone, billing and shipping address, and company);
- request a quote, a return authorisation, or support;
- save a fleet, a parts list, or a purchase-order reference.
We also collect technical information automatically for security and analytics: IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. Payment card details are entered directly into our payment processor and are never stored on our servers.
Why we use it
- to process orders, coordinate with our supplier, and arrange delivery;
- to send transactional messages (order, shipping, refund, and account notices);
- to provide support, verify fitment, and handle returns;
- to prevent fraud and abuse, secure the site, and meet our legal obligations.
We rely on your consent, which may be express or implied by the context of your transaction. You can withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal and contractual limits, by contacting our Privacy Officer. Removing it for order-related processing may mean we can no longer fulfil an order.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the business, and only for that purpose:
- Stripe, for payment processing;
- our parts supplier and freight carriers, for fulfilment and delivery;
- Google, for reCAPTCHA fraud screening and, where you consent, Google Analytics;
- Microsoft, for Clarity usage analytics where you consent;
- VPNapi.io, for IP-reputation screening that protects the site.
We do not sell or rent personal information. We may disclose information when required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights and safety of our customers, our team, or the public.
Where your information is processed
Some of our service providers store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States. While information is in another country it is subject to that country's laws, and foreign courts, law-enforcement, or regulators may be able to access it. We choose providers that commit to safeguards comparable to our own.
Cookies and tracking
We use three categories of cookies and similar technologies:
- Strictly necessary (always on): cart contents, sign-in session, secure checkout with Stripe, reCAPTCHA fraud screening, and IP security checks. The store cannot operate without these.
- Analytics (consent required): Google Analytics, to understand aggregate usage.
- Session replay (consent required): Microsoft Clarity, to see anonymised interaction patterns and fix usability problems.
Strictly necessary cookies run without consent because the store cannot work otherwise. Analytics and session-replay cookies run only after you accept them in our cookie banner, and they stay off for visitors in Quebec unless opted in. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie preferences control in the footer, or by clearing cookies in your browser.
How long we keep it
We keep account and order information for as long as your account is active and as long as we need it to meet tax, accounting, warranty, and legal obligations. When information is no longer needed we delete or de-identify it.
How we protect it
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards proportionate to the sensitivity of the information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and a payment processor that handles card data under PCI standards. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information and to respond to any incident.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to close your account. Contact our Privacy Officer and we will respond within the timelines set by Canadian privacy law, normally within 30 days.
Complaints
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, contact our Privacy Officer first so we can try to resolve it. You may also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca) or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia (oipc.bc.ca).
Changes to this policy
We may revise this policy as our practices or the law change. The Last updated date above shows the current version, and continued use of the site means you accept it.
